About Me
Welcome to my counselling practice in Warfield near Bracknell. I have a comfortable, private room where I hope you will feel relaxed and able to talk and be heard.
My Approach
I will work alongside you on whatever is troubling you in the here and now. I find it can also be helpful to look at what has gone on for you in the past that may be affecting the way you experience life in the present.
In working in this way I aim to help you increase your understanding of yourself and your situation, become more self-accepting and better able to make some of the changes and choices needed to enhance your life, if you wish to do so.
I offer a confidential, respectful, accepting and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. I will not offer advice or tell you what to do. I work in a non-directive way, so you will always be in control of what elements of your life we look at and the pace we move at.
Professional Qualifications
I have certificates in Counselling Studies, a diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, a postgraduate diploma in Attachment-based Therapy, a level 6 certificate in clinical supervision, a certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling, the British Infertility Counselling Association Foundation Course for Infertility Counselling, a certificate in Polyvagal Theory in Counselling and a certificate in Trauma Informed Practice.
I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. As such I work within their ethical framework and abide by their professional conduct procedure to ensure I offer the highest possible standards for you.
In accordance with the requirements of my professional body, I am fully insured, have an up to date DBS certificate and I regularly undertake additional professional study and safeguarding training.
Before becoming a counsellor I worked for 12 years in the NHS as a registered nurse and Ward Sister. I have particular experience in working with people who have experienced the trauma of fertility issues, miscarriage and termination.
Who Do I Work With?
I work with young people over the age of 18, adults and older adults, living in the UK, on an individual basis, face to face, by secure video link or by telephone. At our first session, we can explore whether short-term or open-ended long-term work is likely to be best for you. Once we start you can always change your mind.
In addition to my private practice I also work at a local BACP Accredited counselling service in Camberley and a bereavement support service in Wokingham.
Location
My Warfield practice is easily accessible from Ascot, Bracknell, Camberley, Maidenhead, Sandhurst, Windsor and Wokingham.
I have limited off street parking and additional parking is available on the road.
Please note I do not have a reception area and there is no sheltered space for you to wait in if you arrive before your appointment time.
